Green Mountain ReservoirVisitor source to Green Mountain Reservoir and State Park boat rentals, jet ski, water sport tours, and watercraft services at the marina.  The lake lies at the northern end of Summit County, Colorado along the Blue River. The dam was built between 1938 and 1942 as part of the Colorado-Big Thompson Project, the reservoir and its dam store water that is diverted to the cities in the Front Range Urban Corridor. 

The lake is popular with water skiers, wakeboarders, tubing, wakesurfing, lake cruises, and anglers; who catch rainbow trout, brown trout, and kokanee.  Colorado State Highway 9 follows the east side of the lake for easy access.  The town of Heeney lies on the western side, and the Green Mountain Reservoir Trail goes past the western side of the reservoir perfect for hikers and bikers.
