Haystack LakeVisitor guide to Haystack Lake boat rentals and watercraft service company on the reservoir which is about 3 miles from the city of Culver and is 45 minutes from Bend, Oregon.  It was named after a butte to the south, the dam was constructed in 1956 which is earth filed.  The terrain-surrounding Haystack is plain, consisting of sage and irrigated pastureland that is typical of high desert landscape. The fishing is not the best but with the warmer weather and the magnificent view of Mt. Jefferson it can make the trip worthwhile.

The campground is a single bisected loop stretching along the east shore of Haystack Reservoir.  Enjoy our water sport services with a charter captain or do it on your own with one of our boat rentals.  Although lake levels do fluctuate, depending on demand for irrigation water, the lake is popular with anglers, boaters, and bird watchers.  Loons have been seen on the lake in early spring while osprey.  Many songbirds and waterfowl also regularly visitors the lake to enjoy.
